Focus Summer 2015
The Stour Astronomical Society was established in March
2003 by Dr Kevin Marshall and Geoff Burling. Its main aim is
to fill a void in the county of Suffolk where there is a lot of
interest in astronomy but very few places to go and meet
other amateur astronomers.
Also members can listen to talks given by expert speakers,
receive advice on what equipment you perhaps would like
to buy and what to observe in the night sky.
Where do they meet?

Tudor High Summer at Kentwell Hall is a very popular re-creation
with Tudor activity in the House, Moat House, Gardens and Farm.
With approximately 250 costumed Tudors, it carries through as
many of the Great Annual Re-Creation's themes and activities as
possible, The House is fully open with Tudor activities in some of
the downstairs rooms which are fully accessible.
There will be Tudor activity in the Dairy, Bakehouse, Stillroom and
Needle Room in the Moat House and the Camera Obscura is at its
best at High Summer.
In the Garden, the Potager and Herb Garden are usually fine and
the espaliered apple trees should be fruiting a'plenty.
Also the roses on the Moat walls and the Gardens are expected to
be in full bloom. Tel: 01787 310 207
